North Laurel Elementary School

There is a nondenominational Activity time on Wednesday beginning right after school led by Centenary Church who are looking for volunteers. They do devotional, mission stories & other activities with children. It could be as simple as working at the reregistration table. If you would like to help, see Karen Huffman our Mission’s Leader.

What is Mission Cafe?

Mission Cafe is offered every Sunday at 10 AM. This cafe not only serves as a place to connect with others, grab some breakfast and/or some coffee before or after service but it is a chance to be a part of the bigger story that God is writing.

When you pay for a muffin or bagel, you are supporting our church members to go on mission trips within the US or internationally. All the volunteers who bake items, prepare and/or serve the food are earning money to serve and grow closer to God. It allows us a chance to be connected to their story.

We purchase our coffee from  Phoenix Community  Coffee, which practices a model they have labeled cycle of relief. Aware of the importance of accountability and relationships, at Phoenix Community Coffee Company they purchase our coffee direct from the coffee farm at a price substantially more than the “fair-trade” minimum. Purchasing direct ensures maximum compensation to the farmers and their workers resulting in daily wages over 300% more than other farms. Each bag of Phoenix Community Coffee sold also resources domestic relief projects such as ending the commercial exploitation of children, ending homelessness, restoring abuse victims, supporting single mothers, and much more.  It is called The Cycle of Relief.
