Laurel Nazarene Church has its doors wide open to people of all backgrounds and ages, regardless of where you are on your spiritual journey. We’re striving to become the kind of church family described in the Bible, where there’s real-life teaching, heart-felt worship, honest friendships and compassionate care for those in need. Whether you are a seeker who’s just starting to ask questions about God or a committed Christian who wants to grow a deeper faith, you can find a home here at Laurel Nazarene Church. We also know that it can be scary to visit a new church and we hope that these answers to a few basic questions will ease some of your fears.
What time are services? What will service be like?
We offer 8:30 am service and 10:30 service on Sunday mornings. In the lobby of our building, you will find a visitors center where you will be personally greeted and offered help in finding a seat. Each service lasts approximately 90 minutes and we believe that worship of God should be exciting, enthusiastic and energetic. It should glorify God and inspire people. At LNC, our Sunday mornings feature Family Worship, a blend of old and new forms of worship that is designed to inspire people of all ages
How should I dress?
LNC is a “come as you are” church. We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are thrilled that you’re joining us and we want you to be more focused on who you’re worshiping than what you’re wearing. In the summertime, it’s not uncommon to see people wearing sandals and shorts. Most people dress casual but some still prefer to put on their “Sunday best,” and that’s fine too! We think you’ll fit in no matter how you dress.
What is offered for my child during the service?
Family worship is an important part of our service together and we love singing praises with all of our children. Once the praise team has exited the stage, our Pastor will dismiss the children for their small groups. An usher at the back of the lobby will help you find our children’s check in desk. There a children’s ministry volunteer will help you sign in to Kidcheck, our secure computerized badge system, that allows for secure parent pick up and drop off. Then we will happily escort you to the correct classroom. For our preschool children, we offer Nursery (0-23 months), Sandbox (2-3 years old) and TreeHouse (4 – 5 years old). We offer small groups for our 252 Basics (Kindergarten – 4th grade students) and J12 students (4th – 6th graders). A mother’s room is also available downstairs with live feed of the sermon. During the week, we have other meeting times and activities for our children and youth. Please check out our Children’s Ministry page or Youth page for more information.
